Simone Rede certified under Small Donor Elections program

Updated: Feb 9

Simone Rede’s campaign for City Auditor was certified under the City’s Small Donor Elections program on January 28th. She qualified by collecting the required number of small donations from Portland residents. Now that her campaign is certified, the program will match donations under $20 on a nine-to-one basis.

Rede is the first candidate for City Auditor to be certified under the program, which started in 2020. The program seeks to reduce the influence of money in politics by encouraging candidates to raise funds from a broad base of community members rather than a small number of large donors.

"Small Donor Elections is one way for community members to raise their voices in local elections," Rede said. “Getting certified shows my commitment to engage diverse people in the Portland Auditor’s work.

Simone will continue fundraising, and getting small contributions matched. Donations to her campaign can be made online at simoneforauditor.com/donate, or by cash or money order using the required donor form.
